  1. I think that this is exactly right.    One of the points identified in the
  2. last meeting (minutes are in the archive) is that the Mail MIB needs to 
  3. be extended to cover message store issues.    I certainly have some
  4. ideas on how to do this, and would be very interested to discuss the IMAP
  5. experience in this area to identify what is needed.

  7. I think that the first question is to decide whether to roll this in with
  8. the existing Mail MIB, or whether to have a new Message Store MIB (I've
  9. been told to avoid OSI terminology, but can't think of a better
  10. word!).   My preference is the second, and we should look at simple
  11. managment abstractions which are appropriate to POP, IMAP and P7.

  13. How do you think that it is best to progress this?   I will certainly
  14. make sure that the issue is raised in Columbus.
